LETTERS: Veishea committee needs to organize cleanup crews

Jeanne Rogert

I worked for several hours, picking up trash for Stash the Trash. I am happy to do this to keep our community clean and attractive to all who live here.

I live in the campus area, and I found it disgusting to see the lack of pride students and those visiting Veishea activities seem to take. When I drove to work Monday morning, the parking lot across from Jack Trice looked simply awful. We visited the food vendors and saw lots of trash in and around the Molecular Biology building. Maybe assigning a committee for trash pickup two or three times a day would be something the committee could think about.

Does the Veishea committee have a cleanup crew that works every night? What about enforcing a policy for sororities and fraternities to have their debris from floats cleaned up immediately so it doesn’t blow in our neighborhood?
