The Veishea Entertainment Committee has extended the deadline to apply for the 2010 Veishea Battle of the Bands to next Friday, according to a news release.

Applicants must pay a $10 entry fee and include a demo with at least three original songs. Applications are available at the Veishea Web site and should be returned to the Veishea office by Friday.

The committee will select seven bands to play automatically at the Battle of the Bands on April 16. The other three acts for the Battle of the Bands will be selected through a preliminary “wild card” competition, to take place April 14 and 15, according to the release.
