Flu vaccination clinics set for this week

Two sets of flu vaccinations will begin this week.
HOMEWARD Public Health will hold seasonal flu vaccination clinics from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Wednesday at Cub Foods, 3121 Grand Ave.
Seasonal flu shots are $25, pneumonia shots are $30, and a FluMist vaccine is $30. FluMist is a nasal spray available for individuals ages 2 to 49 years. Story County Public Health has scheduled H1N1 vaccination clinics Tuesday through Saturday in a variety of locations in Ames. Only members of priority groups will be able to receive vaccinations.
Tuesday, 4 – 7 p.m.
First United Methodist Church, 516 Kellogg Ave.
Friday, 4 – 7 p.m.
First Evangelical Free Church of Ames, 2008 24th St. (The seasonal flu vaccine will also be available at this site for $25.)
Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Scheman Building, Rooms 260 and 262
The following groups are priority groups: pregnant women, persons who live with or provide care for infants less than 6 months old, health care and emergency medical services personnel, children and adolescents ages 6 months to 24 years, individuals ages 25 to 64 years who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications. Children ages 9 and younger who received their first dose of H1N1 vaccine (mist or shot) will need a second dose. There must be at least 28 days between the first and second doses.
