Freshman midfielder Amanda Woelfel has made herself right at home in the Big 12 conference standings.

Woelfel joins junior midfielder Jordan Bishop on the short list of Cyclones to earn a Newcomer of the Week award twice in one season. Bishop earned that honor in the 2007 season.

Woelfel had the game-winning goal in the Cyclones’ 2-1 victory over the Cowgirls of Oklahoma State on Friday and then followed up that performance with a game-winning assist in Iowa State’s 1-0 overtime victory over the Northern Iowa Panthers on Sunday.

She leads the team in points with ten, goals with four and game-winning goals at two. Woelfel also shares the lead in assists with two.

Iowa State will play host to Oklahoma and Baylor this weekend at the ISU Soccer Complex.
