LETTERS: Time for Ward 1 to change message from constant ‘no’

Pete and Becky Englin

On Nov. 3, we will choose Tom Wacha to represent Ward 1 because Tom represents opportunity for Ames. Tom Wacha’s thoughtful and progressive views on strengthening Ames, as a vibrant and connected community, serve as the kind of change we want to represent us on City Council. We endorse his vision for Ames as a magnet for businesses and families.

As citizens of ward 1 since 1991, we also believe the current message from ward 1 of “no” to a new Fareway store, the 13th and Grand roadway expansion, negotiating a Rose Prairie annexation and abstention from the Mary Greeley vote, while advocating to retain the operation of Carr Pool under challenging budgetary times, informs us that a change is needed. Thank goodness a great candidate has stepped forward to better serve Ward 1. To learn more about Tom, visit www.tomwacha.org. Tom Wacha and his family chose Ames. On Nov. 3, join us in choosing Tom Wacha to represent Ward 1 and the future success of Ames.

Pete and Becky Englin are Ames residents.
