ISU forward Craig Brackins has been named to the Naismith Trophy Preseason Watch List.

Brackins, the nation’s fourth-best returning scorer, was also named a candidate for the Wooden Award and was a first-team selection for the Preseason All-Big 12 team. The junior from Palmdale, Calif., averaged 20.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game last season.

The Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Board of Selectors compiled the Naismith Trophy Preseason Watch List based on players’ performance in 2008 and their anticipated performance in 2009.

Aside from Brackins, eight other Big 12 players were named to the list, such as Kansas’ Cole Aldrich and Sherron Collins, James Anderson of Oklahoma State and Damion James of Texas.
