After finishing third this weekend at the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, the ISU women’s golf team was left wondering what could have been.

Following the second round of play, the ISU women were tied with Illinois for the team lead.

In the third and final round, the Cyclones carded a 313, giving ground to both Illinois, 307, and tournament champion Missouri State, 296.

Individually, senior Pennapa Pulsawath proved once again that she can contend in any tournament — carding a 227. Her performance was good for a fourth-place tie and her third top 10 finish in four tournaments this year. Pulsawath now has 11 top 10 finishes in her ISU career.

Finishing just two strokes behind Pulsawath, junior Victoria Stefansen came in ninth place with a 229.

Rounding out the rest of the team were Kristin Paulson, 234, Katelynn Hogenson, 237, and Punpaka Phuntumabamrung, 240. Their scores were good for 15th, 25th and 36th place ties, respectively.

The Cyclone women travel to Austin, Texas, to finish out the fall season at the Challenge at Onion Creek on Nov. 2–3.
