SWIMMING & DIVING: Cyclones fall at Illinois

The Cyclones’ swimming and diving team lost to Illinois 173-122 Saturday night.

Seniors Nan Liu and Abby Glaser were key in the Cyclones’ six event wins in Champaign, Ill. Liu swam the first leg of the winning 200-meter medley team and won the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events. Meanwhile, Glaser won the 100-meter butterfly and was a part of the winning 200-meter medley team and the 400-meter freestyle team.

Freshman Dani Harris moved up to 13th all time in Iowa State history in the 200-meter individual medley with a 2:07.79 Saturday night.

Divers Tien Tran and Abby Christensen finished third and fourth in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.

“We were not on today,” diving coach Jeff Warrick said in a news release. “Hats off to the Illinois divers. They were great.”
