The College of Business announced that Richard S. Swanson, president and CEO of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, will be the fall 2009 speaker for the Robert Stafford Lecture Series on Banking and will present at 11 a.m. on Oct. 27 in Gerdin 119.

In his lecture, Swanson will discuss the housing market and how changes in the housing sector can ripple through to consumers, financial markets and community banks.

The event will be preceded by a reception at 10 a.m. in 2200 Gerdin. Both the reception and lecture will be free and open to the public.
