GSB to purchase printer duplexers

– Paige Godden

Wednesday’s Government of the Student Body meeting featured a request for $3,720 to purchase full duplexers to attach to 15 of the most used printers in the library.

“How I understood it the library is already printing at a negative, so if we don’t do anything they might have to raise prices,” said John Schultz, business senator and senior in management information systems.

The installation of the duplexers does not, however, guarantee that student printing costs will not rise.

The vote was passed at 20 to 0 to 1.

The second request was to allocate $14,250 to the Cyclone Stampede Rodeo to replace light fixtures.

“Last year we had two fuses blow and over 400 spectators were there to watch,” said Rita Cook, senior in agricultural business. “We were out of power for half-an-hour.”

The new system is expected to produce $4,000 in energy savings ever year.

“The system we chose will pay for itself in four years,” Cook said.
