Iowa State football players Kennard Banks, Cleyon Laing and Kevin Hamlin have been fully reinstated Thursday after drug-related arrests and student-athlete policy violation suspensions on Tuesday.

The players are eligible for participation in all team activities “effective immediately,” as reported by the Iowa State Athletic department in a press release.

The Athletic Department released:

“After reviewing and discussing the circumstances of this situation with several senior level University officials, including a representative of the student judicial system, the athletics department determined the appropriate action, at this time, is to reinstate the players.”

The players will continue to be monitored under the department’s drug testing policy and may face sanctions or punishment from Iowa State’s student judicial system, but will be ready to go for the team’s Saturday night game against Army in Ames.

The Athletics department has stated in a press release officials will not have any other comment on the issue.
