Two arrested after burglary near Campustown

Ames Police arrested two men in connection with a burglary at 509 Welch Ave. early Saturday morning, where one suspect reportedly “struck the resident over the head” with a cinder block, according to a news release.
The male resident of the apartment was treated for lacerations at Mary Greeley Medical Center and was later released.
Abram Nathaniel Magang, 19, of Marshalltown, and Ayeu A. Rual 23, of Buffalo, N.Y., were arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and are being held in Story County Jail on $50,000 bond, according to the release. Rual was charged with harassment of a public official, according to the release.
They were apprehended by an ISU police officer after they entered the apartment and struck the resident when he woke.
