LETTERS: Don’t lecture me on my own body

I recently read the article about tattoos you took from Roxie Geimer from South Florida University and can’t believe you would take and print such a ridiculous article. I take offense to this stupid article in multiple ways. One was her reference to NBA players. “They already have established careers and can afford to make bad decisions.” She is referring to sleeve tattoos. First, why is it a bad decision? Who is Roxie Geimer to tell someone they have made a bad decision? Second, she goes on to describe players’ tattoos and comments about how she doesn’t understand them. They got them for a reason and probably don’t care if you don’t understand them. In player Luke Walton’s case, his tattoo, I believe, represents him and his three brothers. It’s not just a tribute to the Grateful Dead. In Chauncy Billups’s case, his tattoo is NOT representative of the King of the Hill cartoon. It has something to do with being the best basketball player in the area of Denver where he grew up. Roxie also feels the need to give advice to people on what type and size of tattoos she feels are OK. Nobody cares about what you think, Roxie. My mom gives me more than enough advice, and the last thing I need is someone who doesn’t even know me instructing me on things that will be on my body forever. When it’s all said and done, her article is just plain stupid, and I honestly cannot believe you would print such garbage.
