College of Liberal Arts and Sciences announces two department chairs

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday the new department chairpersons for the department of psychology and the department of philosophy and religious studies.
Kevin deLaplante, associate professor of philosophy and religious studies, and Carolyn Cutrona, professor of psychology, became the chairpersons of their respective departments Wednesday, according to a press release.
Cutrona will replace Doug Bonett, and deLaplante will replace current department chairman Tony Smith.
According to the release, Cutrona’s research focuses on African-American families and health. DeLaplante is currently working on two books and focuses his research on history and philosophy of ecology and the history and philosophy of complex systems sciences, according to the release.
