Ryan Doll announced Tuesday his intention to run for re-election to the third-ward seat of the Ames City Council this November.

Doll beat out Daryl Vegge and Jeremy Davis, who will challenge Doll in November, for the seat in 2005.

“The past four years have been a growing period for both me and the community of Ames. Together we have faced some challenges, yet together we have also experienced rewards,” Doll wrote in a press release. “I hope the citizens of Ames have felt that I have served in the best interest of the community.  Four years ago I was relatively unknown and many wondered where my ideology would fall. However, I believe my record on the Council shows that I have been Pro-Ames before I have been anything else.”

Doll is currently the president and CEO of Pet Butler of Iowa, a pet waste cleanup service, and recently earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Iowa State, according to a press release.
