After taking the first two games of the series on Friday, the No. 1-ranked Oklahoma Sooners completed the sweep of Iowa State with a 14-0 mercy-rule victory over the Cyclones in five innings on Sunday thanks to their explosive offense and a perfect game from pitcher Giselle Juarez.

Juarez pitched all five innings, faced 15 batters and allowed no runs, no hits and had 11 strikeouts.

Iowa State falls to 28-21 (4-11 Big 12) and remains in fifth place out of the seven teams in the Big 12. Meanwhile, Oklahoma improves to 45-2 (15-0 Big 12) and has now won 35 games in a row.

Sophomore Tatum Ksiazek and freshman Shannon Mortimer pitched for the Cyclones and allowed 14 runs, eight of which were earned off 11 hits. 

Oklahoma got the bats going in the top of the second inning as Grace Lyons hit an RBI single, Nicole Mendes scored off of a sacrifice bunt and scored three runs off of home runs by Fale Aviu and Caleigh Clifton which gave the Sooners a 5-0 lead.

The Sooners added to their lead in the top of the third inning as Audrie LaValley scored off of a ground ball and Nicole Mendes scored off of an error by the Cyclones.

In the top of the fourth inning, Oklahoma increased their lead to 10 with Clifton scored off an RBI double by Grace Green and a two-run single by Mendes.

Reagan Rogers added to the Sooners lead as she hit a three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning.

LaValley put the final run of the game on the board in the top of the fifth inning with a solo home run.

The Cyclones couldn’t get any offense going in the bottom of the fifth, and the game resulted in a 14-0 mercy rule victory for the Sooners.
