Junior Laurence Herman won the 2009 Belgium National Stroke Play Championships in her native Belgium over the weekend.

The golfer recorded rounds of 72, 73, 74 and 70 to finish one over par with a total of 289, four strokes ahead of second-place finisher Chloe Leurquin. Herman’s 72.3 average in the tournament surpassed her 78.9 average from the past season.

The first-place finish adds to two Belgium Junior Tour championships Herman won in high school.
