Jamie Pollard will remain at Iowa State through 2014, ISU President

Geoffroy announced Monday.

Pollard, who was appointed athletic director for Iowa State in 2005,

agreed to extend his contract by two years.

Geoffroy praised Pollard as one of the leading athletic directors of

collegiate sports. Geoffroy also said his willingness to take a furlough to help

ease the university’s burden during budget cuts, shows his commitment

to Iowa State.

If Pollard leaves the university before his contract is up, he will

be required to forfeit $400,000 in compensation.
