The Cyclone gymnasts focused on improvement during the 2008-09 season.

Iowa State had only one win on its record, which was the Beauty and the Beast meet against Minnesota. The Cyclones did make it to regionals competition and got 5th place, which put them just short of going to the national competition.

At the end of the season, the Cyclones lost seniors Jennifer Salfen and Jasmine Thompson. Looking ahead for next year, coach Jay Ronayne has recruited a few new freshmen and hopes to see a strong season.
