- To avoid conflict with the 2010 Winter Olympics, the 82nd
Annual Academy Awards will be broadcast live on March 7, 2010.
- Benicio Del Toro, Jim Carrey
and Sean Penn are scheduled to star in a Farrely
brothers update of “The Three Stooges” with Del Toro as Moe, Carrey
as Curly and Penn as Larry.
- “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson has been cast
with in “Memoirs,” a romantic drama, which will be rewritten by
“Rachel Getting Married” writer Jenny Lumet.
- “Labor Pains,” a comedy starring Lindsay
Lohan
, will head straight to cable on ABC Family in July2009, with a DVD release in August.
- On May 15 Green Day is set to release its
first album since 2004 in May with “21st Century Breakdown.”
- Dennis Quaid and Julianne
Moore
are set to play Bill and HillaryClinton
in “The Special Relationship,” about therelationship between British Prime Minister Tony
Blair and the former President Clinton during the Lewinsky
Scandal.
- Zac Efron has departed from an upcoming remake
of “Footloose,” reportedly telling the studio he wasn’t interested
in doing another musical.
- “Saturday Night Live” star Andy Samberg is set
to host the 2009 MTV Movie Awards due to broadcast live on May
31.
- Brittany Snow has been playing a the young
mother of “Serena van der Woodsen” in a still-shooting prequel to
CW hit “Gossip Girl,” set to debut on May 11 during one of the last
episodes of this season.
- Fifteen-year-old Dakota Fanning is scheduled
to star alongside Kristen Stewart in the second
“Twilight” installment “New Moon.”
- Vanessa Redgrave, mother of the late
Natasha Richardson, has agreed to star in the
latest Robin Hood movie, her first movie role since 2007’s
“Atonement.”
