Student Debt committee up for GSB senate discussion
March 9, 2009
The senate bill “Creating a Student Debt Committee” will be in its first read at Wednesday’s meeting.
The bill states that the Government of the Student Body has stated numerous times the issue of student debt is of great concern and there is still work GSB can do to educate students so Iowa State is no longer ranked as one of the highest universities for student debt.
The senate bill Bringing Back Baseball to Iowa State will also be in its first read at Wednesdays meeting.
The athletic department cut the baseball program in 2001 and no longer commits to funding and maintenance.
Many students play baseball on the field and the field is starting to become unplayable.
The bill would allocate $2,275 to the Iowa State Baseball Club for grass seed, new turf and mower repair.
