The Keg Shop, 218 Welch Ave. #3, opens Friday under a new owner and a new name — Campustown Liquor.

Bart Clark, owner of Campustown Liquor, said the shop will have the same staff and sell the same liquor, but will have more alcohol in stock to better serve customers.

“I decided to change the name to get a fresh start,” Clark said.

Anthony Zarn, freshman in construction engineering, said he thinks the new name is a good change.

“It will probably be more successful,” Zarn said.

Kaylinn Hoyt, senior in apparel merchandising, design and production, thinks the new name will offer something more to the business.

“It might attract older people to the shop,” Hoyt said. “I don’t think it will affect student business.”

Besides the name change, Clark plans to sell some new imported beers and new liquors that weren’t previously available at the Keg Shop.

Campustown Liquor will be open from noon to midnight Monday through Wednesday and from noon to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

The Keg Shop closed on Dec. 20 and was bought by Clark at the beginning of February.
