LETTERS: Hasenmiller wrongly implies justification for unequal pay
February 4, 2009
I am writing to thank “Harry Selby” for his comment on Blake Hasenmiller’s column, “Obama’s first bill inserts state into employment relationship.”
I was infuriated by Mr. Hasenmiller’s column and his misogynist point of view.
I completely agree with Mr. Selby that unequal pay for equal work is unjust. I was too angry to respond to Mr. Hasenmiller in an appropriate manner, and I’m glad that someone else was eloquent enough to make an excellent point
I especially am encouraged that a male (rather than a female, who might have been more insulted by Mr. Hasenmiller’s column) cared enough to write in to the paper, and that he holds these progressive opinions.
Hooray for Harry Selby! And thank you, to all the men who support women’s rights — I know you’re out there and I think you rock.
