Gov. Chet Culver will be in Ames Saturday speaking to Story County Democrats about Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the New Deal.

Culver will be the keynote speaker at the Story County Democrats’ annual soup supper on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Wesley Hall of the Collegiate United Methodist Church, 2622 Lincoln Way.

The event will also feature a panel discussion about the success of the New Deal after Culver’s remarks. Admission to the event is by donation.
