Eighth-ranked Duke Burk (174) withdrew from the Midlands Open on Dec. 29 after sustaining a shoulder injury.

Initially, Burk was anticipated to miss a large portion of the remaining season, but now he may return as soon as this Sunday’s dual against Oregon State.

“He’ll be back — if we try to push him, this week. If we don’t, it’ll be the next week,” coach Cael Sanderson said. “He’ll be back soon.”

Burk said he has full range of motion with the shoulder, but he is working to regain strength. The junior transfer from Northern Illinois missed the first two duals of the season with an undisclosed injury.
