Armed robbery at Swift Stop

The Swift Stop gas station, 3406 Lincoln Way, was the scene of an armed robbery Friday night.
The report was received by the Ames Police Department at approximately 10:40 p.m., according to a press release. The clerk said an individual entered the store, produced an automatic handgun, and demanded cash from the register. After an undisclosed amount was taken, the individual then fled the store on foot.
According to the press release issued by the Ames Police Department, the two on-duty employees were unharmed.
The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6’3”, wearing a black ski mask, black coat and sweatshirt, and blue jeans.
