LETTERS: ISU fans receive praise for good sportsmanship

I was greatly impressed by the enthusiasm shown by the fans at the Iowa State-Kansas men’s basketball game Saturday. The energy of the crowd, particularly that of the students, really helped the Cyclones as they battled the Jayhawks. Fans across the country watching the game on ESPN surely were impressed by the student enthusiasm as well.

I hope students can support the women’s basketball team in a similar way. The Cyclone women are, once again, one of the top teams in the conference — and are working hard to battle their way into the NCAA tournament.

I know that with studies, work, intramurals and other social activities, it can be difficult to get to multiple home games in a week, but I hope that we can see a strong student turnout at the women’s games for the rest of the season. There are only six home games left.

The next opportunity to cheer the women on at Hilton Coliseum will be this coming Saturday at 7:00 p.m., against top 20-ranked Kansas State. See you at Hilton!
