Following a career-high 38 point performance last Sunday against Houston, Cyclone forward Craig Brackins was named the Big 12’s Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Brackins, who last won the award on Dec. 8, leads Iowa State in scoring, 226, and rebounds, 98. The sophomore’s scoring total is nearly 100 points more than the team’s second leading scorer Diante Garrett.
The sophomore out of Palmdale, Calif, combined for 56 points and 19 rebounds in Iowa State’s two games last week.
His offensive outburst against Houston tied Marcus Fizer for the 10th highest single-game scoring performance in school history. Brackins also pulled down 14 rebounds in the game.
