NBC has given the highly-desired post-Super Bowl time slot to “The Office.” The time slot is one of the highest rated spots of the TV season. A&E Network has ordered a reality show that will follow action star Steven Seagal in his everyday life. Entertainment Weekly predicts that the movies “Milk,” “Revolutionary Road” and “Doubt” are sure to be buzzworthy as award shows arrive in the next month. The CW has done away with its Sunday night lineup created by Media Right Capital. In its place are reruns of “Jericho” and an MGM movie. NBC White House correspondent David Gregory will be the new host of “Meet the Press” and will officially take the anchor chair after Tim Russert’s death. MSNBC personalities Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews have beat their CNN competition of Larry King, Campbell Brown and Lou Dobbs in the young demographic rating for the first time ever in November. Fox News, however, remains the most watched news network for the 83rd straight month. Sci Fi Channel has green-lit a “Battlestar Galactica” prequel series titled “Caprica” to debut about a year after the last episode of “Battlestar” later next year. Though the latest edition ended last week, ABC has already announced the next season of “Dancing With the Stars” will begin March 9. “Californication” has been renewed for a third season by Showtime, and Disney Channel has renewed “Hannah Montana” for a season three, too. The National Board of Review is to release its picks for the best movies of 2008 Thursday, and thus, kicking off award season.
