Former U of Iowa researcher accused of misconduct

IOWA CITY (AP) — A former University of Iowa researcher is being accused of misconduct after he allegedly falsified data.
University officials say that Jusan Yang claimed he reproduced findings more than he had and falsified picture results of his study.
Yang declined comment on Wednesday.
University officials say the problems happened between 2003 and 2005, when an allegation that Yang couldn’t repeat his findings prompted a university investigation.
The investigation was concluded in 2006. Yang left the university before the investigation was complete.
University officials say such findings would have been grounds for termination. Officials say Yang’s work was never published.
The National Institutes of Health and Office for Research Integrity conducted its own investigation, which was just recently completed.
