Famed writer and doctor Michael Crichton died Tuesday at the age of 66. He had privately been battling cancer. He was the writer behind such books as “Jurassic Park,” “Prey,” “Congo,” “The Terminal Man” and “The Andromeda Strain.” He also wrote such movies as “Westworld,” “Twister” and was the creator of the long-running hospital drama “ER.”

“American Idol” judge Simon Cowell and girlfriend “Extra” correspondent Terri Seymour have split. They had been dating since 2002.

“My Name Is Earl” star Jaime Pressly and her fiancé Eric Cubiche have separated. The two are parents to a one and a half year old son who was born in March 2007.

Former “Partridge Family” star Danny Boneduce has finalized his divorce. The agreement between him and ex-wife Gretchen has Boneduce paying $16,000 a month in child support.

Chevy Chase said he made then-president Gerald Ford look like a klutz in his “Saturday Night Live” parody because he wanted Jimmy Carter to be elected.

Jimmy Carl Black, drummer, vocalist and self-anointed “Indian of the group” of Frank Zappa’s The Mothers of Invention, has died at age 70.
