Man hit by semi on Hwy. 30 in critical condition

AMES — Ames police say a man is in critical condition after being hit by a semitrailer as he walked along U.S. Highway 30 in Ames.
Thomas Weber II was injured in the accident around 3 a.m. Thursday.
Cmdr. Jim Robinson says the truck driver called authorities to say he believed he had hit a person. The driver’s name wasn’t immediately released.
Robinson says Weber was walking eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway when he was struck. He was transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames where Robinson says he was listed in critical condition.
No other information was immediately available.
