LETTERS: Greenwald wrong on bailout, wrong for 4th District
October 12, 2008
Why does Becky Greenwald support the 850-billion-dollar bailout plan? From its inception, the idea of pumping hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars into the corrupt coffers of Wall Street is simply ludicrous. For a so-called advocate of reducing the “squeeze” on the middle class, Becky Greenwald’s support of this legislation sure seems fishy. Legislation of this magnitude should not be railroaded through Congress for political expediency. The lack of oversight, the act of writing a nearly blank check to one man — the Secretary of the Treasury — and the addition of wasteful pork is unforgivable.
After watching day after day of record losses to the Dow Jones and seeing our retirements put in jeopardy since its passage, we, as voters, need to stand up and let her know she is wrong! Ms. Greenwald’s stance on this issue cannot be swept under the rug. She is grossly irresponsible in her support of a taxpayer-funded bailout of Wall Street corruption. When you are getting ready to fill out your absentee ballot or head to the polls, remember a vote for Greedy Greenwald is a vote for more economic uncertainty.
