LETTERS: Becky Greenwald leaves bad impression in debate
October 11, 2008
Who is Becky Greenwald and what is she thinking? On Monday night I tuned into the WHO Radio debate between Congressman Tom Latham and his opponent Becky Greenwald. Let’s just say my first impression of her couldn’t have been worse. Prior to the debate, I didn’t know much about Greenwald. After listening for 90 minutes, I learned everything I need to know.
Greenwald had the audacity to argue with Latham over his vote against the Wall Street bailout. I am amazed that she proudly told voters that she supports the President and the bailout. Her reason? “Doing something is better than doing nothing.” I was utterly taken aback by this statement. Does she really expect us to vote for her when the first words out of her mouth equate to I want to give George Bush an $850-billion check to rescue greedy Wall Street CEO’s?
Iowans cannot afford Becky Greenwald making decisions on our behalf. Weak on substance and long on platitudes, the judgment she has displayed on this one issue alone disqualifies her to be a Member of Congress. Before you go to the polls or fill out your absentee ballot, get to know Becky Greenwald.
