Parking reduced for homecoming game
October 22, 2008
Two thousand public parking spots may not be available for Saturday’s Homecoming football game.
Unpaved and grass parking areas might not be suitable for cars because of consistent rainfall over the last few days. University officials say RVs and buses will not be able to park in grass lots.
Paved areas will be available for RVs and buses to park near the College of Veterinary Medicine complex. Drivers of these vehicles are asked to not park in public lots.
Jerry Stewart, director of public safety, recommended in a press release that fans plan extra time for parking. He recommended to carpool, park on campus and check CyRide schedules for routes heading toward Jack Trice stadium.
The following lots will be available for parking on Central Campus:
• Lot 100 — Lied Recreation Center
• East Campus Parking Deck — Union Drive
• Memorial Union Parking Ramp — Regular hourly rates apply
• All general yellow or red reserved lots, except for loading zones, handicapped parking stalls or 24-hour reserved stalls
