LETTERS: Salt Co. invites all to find answers, faith

Garrett Skaar

As an individual who has found great joy in my Christian faith, allow me to respond that religion confuses me and many others as well. I would like to thank you, Ms. Prell, for providing an excellent reminder to those of us who call ourselves Christians.

Faith has nothing for those of us who hear and even understand the words of Jesus but do not live them in our daily lives. Anyone, not just pastors, who claim to be Christian and yet very clearly steals, murders and hates others, commits adultery and immorality, or even lies or gets drunk, are individuals who slander the name of the Lord to the world; sometimes in a very publicly broadcast format, and sometimes in a basic act of rudeness.

I cannot judge the hearts or intentions of others, as we all come up short when it comes to the relationship and life that God has to offer. I am not an organizer of Salt events, but as a regular attendee and someone, who through their presentation of the Bible’s message, has found a great number of answers to the questions and problems in life that we all experience. I would ask that you not assess the intentions of Salt Co. and those who attend by the actions of one person. I would like to invite you — and anyone else who is interested in learning the values of Christianity — to come on Thursday evenings at 8 p.m. to Cornerstone Church and hear what it means to live out the right and wrong that we all feel inside, according to the words of God.
