Sunday marks the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, and the event will be celebrated at Iowa State. And stars from “House,” “Lost,” “The Office” and “Two and a Half Men” will all come together this weekend for one night.

Beginning at 6 p.m. students can arrive at the M-Shop in the Memorial Union and fill out a Emmy ballot, which, if predicted correctly, can earn a trophy. If it’s totally wrong, it could also earn a trophy. No registration or money is required to attend the event.

“The Emmys are something a lot of people can watch and relate to — TV dramas, comedies, reality shows,” said Cindy Blass, senior in apparel merchandise, design and production and director of special events with the Student Union Board. “It’s not like the [MTV Video Music Awards], which people may have a hard time relating to and not everyone watches music videos.”

The ceremony will be hosted by Tom Bergeron, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Jeff Probst and Ryan Seacrest — all five are nominated for best host for a reality series.

“There will be trivia in between the broadcast — during commercials — where students can earn posters and movie related prizes,” Blass said.

The show, located at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, begins at 7 p.m. Sunday on ABC.

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards was held last Saturday and gave out Emmys in more than 60 technical categories. There are still nearly 30 categories to be awarded Sunday night.
