FEEDBACK: Food vendors should consider going green
September 3, 2008
I love eating “Bare Burritos” — a regular burrito without the high-carb tortilla. These days you get them at Panchero’s or even at the Memorial Union food court at Iowa State. These are served on high-quality plastic bowls. What bothers me is that once used, they end up in the garbage can and, later, in the landfill. I try to do my part to prevent that by bringing some back home and using them in various ways. I urge the vendors to serve these burritos on a paper bowl or, at the very least, to recycle — God forbid, wash and reuse! — the bowls they currently use.
