LETTERS: Communicate problems in the classroom, lab
September 28, 2008
At the LAS career fair in Hilton Coliseum, a student said one class was boring. She was going to put this on the course evaluation and I said she should tell the teacher directly. Boredom is one way that colleges lose students and we lose professionals. This student should offer ideas of how to better teach the class. Iowa State has an office that works with faculty on teaching, so students are accommodated when possible. Problems in the classroom/lab should be communicated so everyone benefits.
