Late-night host David Letterman said he would like to finish his contract he has with CBS and then consider calling it quits.
R&B singer Usher will soon announce the details of his “One Night Stand Tour” that will be a ladies-only tour. The tour should include about 15 venues.
Prosecutors said two surfers have been charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly throwing a photographer into the water as he tried to shoot pictures of Matthew McConaughey surfing. McConaughey was not involved in the incident.
TV writer Aaron Sorkin has signed up for Facebook. He did it to find out what Facebook is as part of a possible movie. Currently, Sorkin has a profile — but you can’t friend him — a group and two Facebook pages.
Singer Amy Winehouse could possibly face legal action after failing to perform at the popular French rock festival Rock en Seine on Friday. Winehouse’s spokesperson said she was unable to make it to France due to illness.
Singer Akon is headed to trial on criminal charges he tossed a teenager off the stage during a June 2007 concert at a minor league baseball stadium. Another concertgoer said she suffered a concussion when the boy landed on her. He pleaded not guilty in December to misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment, a violation.
Jerry Reed, a singer who became a good ol’ boy actor in car chase movies like “Smokey and the Bandit,” has died of complications from emphysema at 71.
