Football player Bass suspended indefinitely
April 17, 2008
ISU running back J.J. Bass has been suspended indefinitely from the ISU football team, coach Gene Chizik said Saturday.
Chizik said Bass was not in trouble with the law, but would not say the exact reasoning for his suspension, only saying that Bass hadn’t lived up to the team’s standards.
“There’s a standard that we hold every guy on this team to and if they’re not doing it, they won’t be a part of it,” Chizik said. “So I use the word indefinitely which means there is a chance for him to return if he lives up to the standard we expect from him when it comes to things on and off the field.”
