Freeman Spring Concert bands announced

The bands performing at the fourth annual Freeman Spring Concert have been announced. The event will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 in the Forker Building parking lot. The concert is part of Residence Hall Week.

Amber Pacific (pop/punk)

Amber Pacific was formed in 2002 near Seattle. The band has was part of Warped Tour in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 and has toured with Matchbox Romance. The band has released two studio albums, “The Possibility & The Promise” in 2005 and “Truth In Sincerity” last May. The band also released the EP “Fading Days” in 2004.

Dropping Daylight (rock)

Dropping Daylight was formed in 2001 in Minneapolis. The band has toured with Breaking Benjamin, Jason Mraz and Army of Anyone. It released its first nationally released album, “Brace Yourself,” in 2006. The band has previously released “Back to Nowhere,” under the name Sue Generis, and “Take A Photograph EP.”

Jade Lea (pop/rock)

Jade Lea is native to Ames. The band is composed of Keith Rollins, senior in art and design, Jon Saxton and J Staples. The band often performs in the Ames area at venues such as the M-Shop and Bali Satay House.

Radio Moscow (blues rock)

Radio Moscow is native to Ames. The band is composed of Parker Griggs, Zach Anderson and Keith Rich. The band’s self-titled debut album was released in February 2007. The band also finished a European tour earlier this month.

The Poison Control Center (indie/powerpop)

Poison Control Center was formed in Ames. It is comprised of Patrick Fleming, Devin W. Frank, Joey Terry and Donald Ephraim Curtis III. The band released the album “A Collage of Impressions” in September 2007 and has released a succession of EPs in their eight years of existence.

The Vandon Arms (punk/rock)

The Vandon Arms was formed in 2005 in Des Moines and is comprised of Aaron Buzbee, Clint Meek, Jeff Krantz and Elliot Tommingo. The band has performed with The Envy Corps, Agent Orange and The Unseen. In 2007, they released “Losers and Boozers EP.”
