Find hot spots and more all around town
February 28, 2008
In the age of technology, many more students are carrying around their laptops, hoping to find a wireless location. On campus, almost all the buildings have wireless Internet. However, off-campus is a little trickier. AMUSE found some great spots downtown to sit and surf the Internet away from campus.
Café Diem
229 Main St. #101
Café Diem is the perfect spot downtown to enjoy a cup of coffee and study. There are plenty of seats to work on homework and take advantage of the wireless Internet.
Stomping Grounds
303 Welch Ave.
Stomping Grounds is just off Welch Avenue, which makes this café a perfect place to study for students living around the Campustown area. When the weather is nice, patrons can sit outside and enjoy a great cup of coffee; the wireless Internet is also a great feature of this café.
Café Beaudelaire
2504 Lincoln Way
The cozy atmosphere of Café Beaudelaire lends itself as a great place to study in the afternoon. Although it typically has a bar atmosphere in the evening, the wireless Internet is available all the time.
Panera Bread
309 South Duff Ave.
Enjoy a sandwich, soup, or sweet treat at this café-style restaurant. A perfect place to study, there is ample room for students to spread out with books and use the Internet as well.
Bruegger’s Bagels
539 Lincoln Way
Known for its wide selection of bagels, spreads, and sandwiches, Bruegger’s is a cozy place on Lincoln Way. Its wide variety of seating makes it easy to do homework and surf the Internet.
Borders
1200 South Duff Ave.
Although it’s a bookstore, Borders also has a cozy café and lounge. Students can stop in, browse the book collection, and enjoy a cup of coffee while reading or use the wireless Internet. However, the wireless internet is not accessible to everyone and may have to paid for. Reservations are recommended.
Café Milo
4800 Mortensen Suite
A trendy café, Café Milo is comfortable enough to relax for an evening in the restaurant. Bring a computer and work on a project or a paper while enjoying a vegetarian dish.
Chica Shack
2418 Lincoln Way
The Chica Shack is known for its hookah; however, it also serves a Mediterranean lunch and dinner. Stop by in the afternoon to relax and take advantage of the wireless Internet.
