LETTER: Vote wisely in upcoming election
February 21, 2008
I am writing in support of Ryan Crampton and Jeff Edwards for Government of the Student Body president and vice president.
Since I have been at Iowa State, we have heard the same kind of message from candidates about increasing the communication between students and GSB. We have heard countless promises about making GSB better. But the only time we hear about GSB is during election time. When talking to others about GSB, most don’t even know GSB stands for the Government of the Student Body! That is a problem!
The Crampton-Edwards campaign slogan is “Two men who DO WORK.” I am excited to hear this because that is what they actually will do. Crampton-Edwards will raise our GSB to a level the students deserve. We, as students, deserve leaders who are going to stay tuned in to what students want and need.
Crampton-Edwards are a strong team that is well-rounded. Crampton is a junior studying political science and comes from his family farm in Kiron. Edwards is a junior studying finance and international business with a minor in political science from West Des Moines.
Not only will Crampton and Edwards bring great leadership to the GSB, they also bring with them a record of success. They both have been heavily involved in numerous organizations and councils throughout our university, including the GSB.
We need common-sense solutions and leaders who will actually work to enhance the student experience at Iowa State. This spring, if students want to cast a vote for enhancing their experience here, they should vote Crampton-Edwards! You can find out more on their Web site at www.stuorg.iastate.edu/cramptonedwards.
