‘LETTER: Two men who DO WORK!’ best candidates in campaign
February 27, 2008
The best candidates for the Government of the Student Body this spring are clearly Ryan Crampton and Jeff Edwards.
As a junior at Iowa State, I am ready for new leadership and a fresh approach to improving our GSB. Yes, all the candidates have experience, but for me, as a student, you can cut through all the experience, qualifications and past positions held, because that has not proven to be a great factor in the past years of our GSB. We should look deeper. As students, we deserve leaders who are going to stay tuned into our interests and needs, and who will simply get the work done!
Students are tired of the old way of doing things, and students deserve better! Crampton and Edwards hear this, and will take the GSB to a level that is working to enhance students’ experiences at Iowa State. Their message is quickly spreading across campus, which is simply, “Two men who DO WORK!”
I must admit it is catchy- but it is so much more than just doing work. Crampton and Edwards see the potential GSB has for students, and that potential will only be realized by turning the GSB into a student government that involves and communicates with students in an effective way. Why do most students not know what GSB stands for, or who their senators are? The answer is simple – our student government needs to do more work!
We have a great opportunity to elect leaders who are going to bring change. I encourage you to visit the Crampton-Edwards Web site at www.stuorg.iastate.edu/cramptonedwards for more information, and I hope you’ll join the “Crampaign for students” and vote for Crampton-Edwards on March 10 and 11!
