LETTER: Diverse candidates vie for GSB ticket
February 11, 2008
I would like to announce the GSB presidential candidacy of Daniel Fischer, junior in agricultural business and economics, and his running mate, Maggie Luttrell, senior in history and women’s studies. Both are well-versed in the undertakings of the university and are taking an ambitious yet realistic stance on many issues, including affordability, communication and other issues pertinent to students. Although Fischer and Luttrell have served in similar roles as GSB cabinet members, community activists and representatives for their respective majors, they nevertheless will be one of the most diverse tickets this year. Fischer is a member of the greek community and Luttrell has been active in the residence halls. Luttrell is an out-of-state student from Jacksonville, Ill., whereas Daniel is an in-state student originally from a farm near Neola.
This team of candidates offers a unique perspective on student issues that is reflected in their backgrounds and present affairs, and will do the best job of representing students. Come March 10 and 11, this will be a ticket worth selecting. For more information, please visit www.fischerluttrell.com.
