After a hectic month of February, Iowa State found out its March Madness draw Sunday when the NCAA Tournament bracket was announced.

The Cyclones earned a 6 seed thanks in part to a strong performance at the Big 12 Tournament. Iowa State will take on 11 seed Ohio State in the first round matchup, played in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

If Iowa State advances past the Buckeyes, either 3 seed Houston or 14 seed Georgia State will battle the Cyclones.

Iowa State was projected to be a 7 or 8 seed by many bracketologists until the Big 12 Tournament. Then, coach Steve Prohm’s squad reeled off three wins in three days to capture the trophy.

Iowa State is making its return to the big dance after a year off. The Cyclones made the NCAA Tournament every year from 2011-17 until last year’s hiatus.
