Mobius Band started out in a small town in Massachusetts called Shutesbury. Since the release of its debut album, “The Loving Sound of Static” (2005), Mobius Band has performed more than 150 shows.

Its newest album, “Heaven,” was written over a 19-month period and was released in October 2007.

Members: Ben Sterling, Peter Sax and Noam Schatz

Musical influences: Def Leopard, Debbie Gibson and Jimi Hendrix

Why did you want to be in a band? “It takes an irrational desire to want to make music for a living,” Sterling said. Making the necessary sacrifices to be where he is today, to be in a band, you have to “love and need to do it,” he said.

Future plans: Next year the band will tour in Europe and England.

What was the most embarrassing thing that happened during a performance?

“One time we opened for a popular artist and the crowd didn’t want to hear us, so some people threw bottles and pens at us,” Sterling said. “The experience helped us build our character and made us want to be better.”
