Their story:

Mae was formed in 2001 in Virginia Beach, Va. The band’s first song, “Embers and Envelopes,” was recorded in drummer Jacob Marshall’s living room. After signing with Tooth and Nail Records, the band released its first album, “Destination: Beautiful.” Its second album, “The Everglow,” was released in 2005. After completing its contract with Tooth and Nail Records, the band signed with Capitol Records to produce its third album, “Singularity.” Released in 2007, the record centers on a much livelier sound.

“I really do think this is the best record that Mae as ever written. The five of us understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses now more than ever and over the past couple years, that momentum has continued to change and grow our band in really positive ways,” says Elkins on Mae’s Web site.

The band is currently on tour with Motion City Soundtrack, Anberlin and Metro Station.
