Lorie Line is a concert pianist from Reno, Nev., who performs holiday songs with her pop chamber orchestra. With more than 26 albums released and more than 6 million copies sold, Line has become one of the most well-known pianists and holiday musicians in the country. One of the many stops on her national tour includes Stephens Auditorium.

Lorie Line Inc.: Line started this company by writing arrangements for other instruments beside the piano; these instruments now accompany her on tour. Currently, Lorie Line Inc. is the largest woman-owned independent record company in the United States.

Her pop chamber orchestra: Line’s pop orchestra includes a cello, violin, bass, trumpet, trombone, woodwinds (including a saxophone), guitar and drums. Line also features a vocalist, who Lorie discovered while attending an opera.

Musical influences: Liberace, George Winston and David Lanz

What’s your favorite thing on your tour bus? “My favorite thing is my cappuccino machine. It’s the same kind in Starbucks, a commercial one.”

If you could meet one pianist, dead or alive, who would it be and why? “Handel, because he wrote “Messiah” in 24 hours. That’s a feat in itself!”
